Why we do it

A sizeable number of our children don’t experience the joy and excitement that learning should be, and for a number of reasons, they slip through the net.

​

The Government Statistics of 2021 below are some indication of the fallout from this.

• 14.9% of the entire Pupil Population have some form of Special Educational Needs

​

• 830,000 days of school were lost due to pupils being sent home for fixed periods

​

• 42 Children are permanently excluded from school every day in England alone

​

• 35% of these children are excluded for Persistent Disruptive behaviour

​

• 25% of 10 and 11 year-old students in England did not reach the expected level of reading in their SATs and 22% when tested on grammar, punctuation and spelling.

​

• Only 4% of excluded children pass their English and Maths GCSEs

​

• 61% of Students excluded from school end up in Prison

As a society, we all suffer the consequences. Here at WOW Education we don’t claim to have all the answers but the hope is that our contribution can help and support those who need it, at a time they need it the most.
